Assignment Description For this assignment, students were suggested to use or take pictures of something with vibrant colors in it. By taking these pictures students were then required to use photoshop to make only one part of the picture pop with color. What I learned
During this assignment I learned how to use certain keys to both inverse colors and desaturate photos as well. In order to get the finished product on the right, the image had to be desaturated by using the keys ctrl + shift + U. Using the selection tool I first selected the area I wanted to show color using the quick selection tool. I then used the keys ctrl + shift + I to inverse the selected area, once I was able to do that I hit the delete button and now the area I selected is now colored while the rest is black and white.

Assignment Description For this assignment students were required to take photographs of either themselves or a friend and merge multiple photos together to create multiples of one. What I learned...
Assignment description... Shutter speed: 1/60 Aperture: f8.0 ISO: 100 What I learned
While taking pictures of the moon I went through a lot of trial and error to get a decent enough picture to photoshop. I really had to make sure everything was balanced out with the exposure triangle to get the lighting just right. I uploaded the original picture into photoshop and I messed around with lighting, contrast, black and white filter, etc. Enough editing was able to take away the glow around the moon to show a clearer image. Assignment description This assignment was designed to teach students how to use a camera and tripod to take multiple photos and to merge them together to make a panoramic shot. Students were supposed to go around the school to take these photos and be able to use adobe photoshop to edit. What I learned
I learned most about how to position the camera correctly to make the panoramic easy to merge together. It was important to take 40% of the previous image into the next, this way it allows photoshop to easily see and merge together the photos without any hesitation. I also learned about how to merge them in photoshop. Assignment description For photo 6 capturing shadows meets a high demand for contrast between shadows and light. Photographs can become more appealing to the viewer if the contrast is strong and the composition is presented well. Shadows and light can draw attention to certain parts of the photograph. In this case, I used shadows and light to present a repetitive line of light that vanishes towards the tall dark door in the middle of the photograph. What I learned
During this assignment.... Assignment Description For this assignment students were asked to take a picture of the school either being inside or out. The whole point to this assignment was to change the context of the school using adobe photoshop, making a normal/natural school environment become extraordinary. Students were allowed to insert images from google to perform these tasks. What I learned
While working on this assignment for a couple days I learned a few things about layering in adobe photoshop. Although I have a strong background in photoshop, I had some difficulties getting started with this photoshop assignment since the keys and controls are different than the software I usually use and sizing being a big issue as well. I learned how to size down my original image before inserting images from google to create a high quality image and to continue with the correct proportions. I edited the background as well to enhance the picture to make it seem more like the school was underwater. Assignment description For this assignment students were asked to take pictures up close of something using the macro settings on the camera. Up close shots should be clear ands still somewhat recognizable to the viewer what the object is. I went out on a day off of school this week to take pictures of ice covered branches on the trees. Original - unedited photo Shutter Speed: 1/250 Aperture: f5.0 ISO: 800 More Photos What I learned
For me, taking pictures up close using macro settings was quite easy. I had found that using a longer lens to reach farther distances helped these images to fill the frame. I also used the manual focus to help clear up the shot, however, I had to take a lot of photos to get at least 5 that came out great. Assignment Description For this weeks assignment I chose to capture nature since we had some snow recently. This assignment required that you need to capture an image that says something about the landscapes we live in or says something about nature. Original - unedited photo Shutter speed: 1/640 Aperture: f5.0 ISO: 500 What I learned
During this assignment I had some difficulties trying to capture how fast the snow was coming at the camera. Increasing the shutter speed helped but again I had difficulties trying to focus somewhat on the snowflakes that were coming towards the camera. Eventually, I got a picture that came out decent enough, but I feel like I could have done a better job adjusting the controls to produce a clearer photograph. |
